I erred in dating the hearing on the Route 9A tunnel in the last mailing. It's JUNE 24TH not 28th...just one day after the New York hearing on the PATH terminal. I urge people to WRITE TO THE NEW YORK TIMES commending Herbert Muschamp's conversion to the ranks of pro-rebuilders. As noted, they insist on postal addresses and phone numbers to consider letters for publication, and want letters to be under 150 words. Send them to TWO email addresses,as letters might be in either the general letters column or the Arts and Leisure section's occasional letters column: letters@nytimes.com artsleis@nytimes.com Don't delay...we need to keep up the pressure. The JUNE 8TH hearing on the Fulton Street transit center is of course virtually upon us.Recall the issues mentioned in the last mailing. June 8th is also being marked by the relaunch of the Restorewtc.com site with new content. Another recent campaign option has been writing to NY Attorney General Eliot Spitzer to urge investigation of corruption in the official planning process.Form letters are all you can expect in response, but after all if an investigation DOES ensue it wouldn't be something for public comment while in progress, and the more requests the more seriously it will be considered. http://nypost.com/news/regionalnews/25261.htm concerns the cultural programs planned at the site...which may prove as silly as the rest of the official plans. See you on the 111th floor on 9-11-11! -=-=- The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again, at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
