First off,a few news stories.

Downtown is in demand at least as a place to live:

After failing to lease the new 7 WTC internally,he has hired CB
Richard Ellis as its main leasing agent:

At this point (see that article) Silverstein claims to have the
money to build the Fraud'em Tower AND the second-largest tower
of the Libescheme,the north end of its dense wall along Church
Street.(Sixty-odd stories and no funny hat on top).

Whether he really has that financing is doubtful.
So is the idea of building the northernmost building first,
since its tenants would be a built-in constituency opposed
to completing the buildings south of it,which would cast
shadows on it.Such opposition is minimized by building
from south to north.

Note that the three buildings he is planning up front,
the new 7 WTC,the Fraud'em Tower,and "Tower 2",add up
to about ONE Twin Tower in terms of office space.

While the principal Gotham Gazette message boards have turned
into a black hole in terms of getting new stuff posted (one can
fill out the form,but new articles only get emailed to those who
posted before and asked to get emailed,nothing dated after
February has posted to the web),they have other message boards
for reacting to articles...and Peter Walukiewicz alerted me to
an important one.

Peter started the message board linked to at the end of the article,
and so far it's ENTIRELY against the official plans...let's keep piling
in on that site!

Team Twin Towers has updated their website with reference to and
pictures of our event on the 11th.I'd like to point out that the
woman who asked for a poster was,I believe,the MOTHER of one of
the policewomen who was there,not the policewoman herself...I think
the Department would frown on a cop demanding a gift and they can
be assured that this did not happen!

The NYCS board has been quiet lately,after "||" collapsed in despair
making mountains out of the molehills of rebuilding-group personnel
changes and then resurrected himself as "Unite or Fall".Novus has
called for the rebuilding movement to become just a Gardner-plan
fan club and as ever I disagree,as I would with shrinking down to a
Turner-plan,or Berzon-plan,or any-one-plan movement.

However,the same fate repeatedly visited upon NYCS has just happened
to restorewtc.com in the past day or so:some code-cracking vandal
replaced the main page with junk without actually destroying any
files.(Earlier attacks on NYCS actually deleted messages but the
recent ones have not).

They can knock down our Towers,they can knock down our webpages,
but we WILL return.
